Unrest Continues in Ukraine

One member of Ukraine’s National Guard was killed and at least 69 others were injured in a blast outside the country’s parliament Monday, as fighting broke out between protesters and law-enforcement officers following a controversial vote on the country’s constitution, which would hand greater autonomy to local governments.

The Ukrainian National Guard said in a statement that a young conscript had died in hospital from shrapnel wounds suffered in the explosion, which took place outside the parliament building in central Kiev.
