Uber Driver Shoots, Kills Random People

Uber says the man suspected of going on a western Michigan shooting rampage that left six people dead was one of its drivers. But they wouldn’t say Sunday whether 45-year-old Jason Dalton was driving for the ride-sharing service Saturday night when the shootings occurred outside an apartment complex, car dealership and restaurant in and around Kalamazoo.

Authorities are trying to figure that out. No motive at this point, but the suspect is in custody, and new details should emerge soon enough. And we are learning more about his victims, in what appears at the moment to be a senseless, irrational, flash of random violence.

ABC’s Ryan Burrow is in Kalamazoo, MI.
