Tourist Friendly Changes Coming To The “Crossroads Of The World”

Next time you’re in New York’s Times Square look down at the color of the pavement where you’re walking.

In an attempt to bring order to the chaos, the “Crossroads of the World” will now have what you might call Elmo-free zones. Unless the sidewalk is teal, comedy club guys, tour bus brokers and Elmo have to back off . In addition to the painted areas, there will be signage that clearly communicates what activity zone people should be in.

The idea is to free tourists from unwanted harassment and have flow zones to help New Yorkers keep moving like pedestrian express lanes. ABC News correspondent joined us from New York.
