As to that “other matter” – if the Rules Committee (and full convention) organically pass a rule that would allow Ryan to be nominated, Rep. Tom Cole, (R-OK), who suggested Ryan could receive the nomination through a contested convention a few weeks ago, said yesterday’s speech made it clear that Ryan doesn’t want the nomination.
Then again, “a lot of this depends on what happens at the convention,” he said. “The Rules Committee can do whatever it wants. In an election year of “unlikely twists and turns,” who knows what could happen?
