Orlando Shooting: We’re All Family, POTUS Says

President Obama is meeting with the families of Orlando shooting Thursday … who are in the process of laying their dead to rest. The bodies of all the victims have now been released from the medical examiner’s office to funeral homes, part of what one official here has called this community’s “new phase of grieving”.

There are funerals today, tomorrow, the day after. The autopsy on the shooter was conducted away from the victims. That’s not a requirement, the medical examiner said, but done out of respect for the victims and their families so the shooter may never be near, what she called “the 49 beautiful souls again.” Investigators continue to dig into Omar Mateen’s past, family, friends and wife.
