Obama Discusses War Against ISIS

President Obama met with his National Security Council on Tuesday to get an update on how the country is faring regarding its war on ISIL. He then made remarks concerning that update, but then added additional remarks regarding the criticism he has received for not using the term “radical Islam.”

He said anti-Muslim rhetoric from presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is “not the America we want,” arguing that treating Muslim-Americans differently won’t make the U.S. safer. He says it will make the country less safe by fueling the notion among followers of the Islamic State group that the West hates Muslims. Trump, and for that matter, the RNC, fired right back at him.
