NeverEnding Story: St Petersburg Still Viable for Tampa Bay Rays

ST PETERSBURG – Mayor Rick Kriseman has changed his tune in the last couple of months. Back in March he had agreed to allow the Rays out of there contractual agreement but now he is back saying that St. Pete is the best place for them.

Lack of attendance is a well known Rays issue but in the ADHD tech driven world it is no surprise that causal baseball fans are not interested in watching strong defense and great pitching. No one wants to sit regularly through a 3 hour baseball game that ends 1-0 with 3 total hits between the two teams. Its boring.

The Tampa Bay Rays also have a branding issue. They should rename themselves as the St. Pete Rays to gather local support.
