NATO To Fight Refugee Smugglers

NATO Defense Ministers on Thursday agreed to send alliance warships to the Aegean Sea between Turkey and Greece in an effort to deter human trafficking. The alliance will also enhance its surveillance of the Turkey-Syria border to monitor more closely the flow of immigrants and the activities of smugglers. NATO insists they are targeting smuggling rings, not stopping refugees from trying to make the journey.
