Lovie Smith Firing Solidifies the Buccaneers as NFL’s Worst Franchise

TAMPA BAY – When announcing the hiring of Lovie Smith the Bucs rolled out billboards welcoming him home. It was suppose to be a stabilization of a position that has been influx for 8 years. But after going 8-24 in two seasons, Smith was terminated over the phone.

Smith was never given the chance to succeed as he inherited one of the worst franchises in the NFL completely void of talent. He logically tanked the team, received the first pick overall and used it on a “franchise” quarterback in Jameis Winston.

He improved to 6-10 and year three was looking up. But then the Glazers did what they do and fired there HC.

Rumor is that Offensive Coordinator Dirk Koetter is going to be promoted from within. He was the “mastermind” behind the Bucs passing game that ranked 17th in the league and points scored ranked 20th.
