Give the American consumer some credit. Sometimes, when the term E Coli is associated with a restaurant chain over a several day period, and not just in one location, the consumer may pull back on patronizing that particular establishment. This is perhaps the root cause of what fast casual restaurant chain Chipotle calls a 30% drop in sales last month at its restaurants across the country.
Now more problems, of the legal kind, as the company also reported the Feds are conducting an unusual criminal investigation into the matter, apparent in regards to either underreporting of the problem, or not responding responsibly enough after the issue became apparent.
