Cheating Russians To Learn Fate Friday

The latest word is that the Russians are prepared to admit that in some instances, they did in fact cheat.

Putin has called for an internal investigation. Nonetheless, The IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) will rule on Friday on whether to ban Russia from international competitions over the doping scandal revealed by an explosive World Anti-doping Agency (WADA) commission report published on Monday. Russian officials have indicated that even if a bunch of their athletes are suspended, they will not boycott next year’s summer games in Rio de Janeiro.

Of course if the panel believes that Russian Olympics officials were complicit in the deception, the punishment could be a bit more severe than just the suspension of athletes.
