British Parliament Debates Trump Entry Ban

On Monday, the British Parliament debated whether to bar the Donald Trump from entering the UK. The debate comes in response to a petition signed by over 570,000 people in Britain following his call to ban all Muslims from entry into the US.

For his part, Trump has already threatened to pull planned investments from his Scottish golf resorts if a ban is put in place. In the end, the reality is that the debate is just an opportunity for politicians to vent their opinion on the issue.

During a three-hour debate, legislators from Britain’s main parties stood to call Trump an attention-seeker, a demagogue and a fool. Many, though, argued that he should not be stifled or banned.
