World Series Ring Stolen from Pitcher Derek Lowe

FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) _ Authorities in southwest Florida say somebody stole a World Series ring and trophy belonging to major league pitcher Derek Lowe.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office said Monday that Lowe’s 2004 Boston Red Sox World Series ring was taken from his Fort Myers home.

A housekeeper told investigators that a gold trophy, necklaces, and women’s shoes and purses also were stolen sometime between April 16 and April 18.

Total value of the items taken was about $90,000.

An incident report said the ring is 18-karat white gold with rubies and diamonds, and it is inscribed with Lowe’s name and jersey number, 32.

Lowe currently pitches for the Cleveland Indians.
