Woman in Texas To Be Executed
A 38-year-old woman is set to be executed on Wednesday evening in Texas for beating and starving the nine-year-old son of her live-in girlfriend.
The child had been bludgeoned and bound, weighed only 35 pounds and had more than 250 scars when his body was discovered in 2006. Attorneys for Lisa Ann Coleman claim that prosecutors sought a death penalty only because their client is black and a lesbian and they’ve appealed to Gov. Rick Perry for a reprieve.
