Woman Starts Fire, Endangers Twin Infants

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a 28-year-old woman set fire to her boyfriend’s shirt during an argument, sparking a fire inside a South Florida apartment that endangered the couple’s twin infants.

Broward Sheriff’s officials say Shawanda Robinson was arrested on arson charges Sunday. On Monday, Judge John “Jay” Hurley ordered the woman to have no contact with her boyfriend, Tafari D’Aguilar.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel reports the infants were not injured, but were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

A spokesman for the Department of Children and Families says the children are with their father.

Officials say the fire displaced residents of the seven adjoining apartments in the Deerfield Beach complex.
