Winter Haven Police are currently on scene of a burglary that resulted in the homeowner shooting the suspect inside of the residence.
Today at approximately 6:50 a.m., Winter Haven Police responded to a burglary call at 4219 Lake Marianna Dr. in Winter Haven.
Police say 54 year old Luis F. Pena, 53 year old Bacenbina Pena and 27 year old Luis A. Pena were in their house and heard what sounded like someone entering the back portion of the house.
A burglar entered the home and was shot and killed by the homeowner. Police say all three family members were armed with guns and a warning shot was fired. The burglar continued to enter and was shot dead.
