Warehouse Containing Peanut Oil Catches Fire In Enterprise

ENTERPRISE, Ala. (AP) — Authorities say a large warehouse containing peanut oil caught fire, closing parts of Main Street in the southeast Alabama town of Enterprise.

Enterprise Police Chief T.D. Jones said firefighters received the first call reporting the fire at Sessions Co. Inc. in downtown Enterprise around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Enterprise Mayor Kenneth Boswell tells The Dothan Eagle (http://bit.ly/1CDfE6h) that no one was hurt in the blaze. He said the city was bringing in a large excavator to get the warehouse’s inventory out.

According to its website, Sessions is a family owned and operated peanut sheller and processor headquartered in Enterprise. The company, founded in 1917, also produces crude peanut oil and peanut meal.
