MIAMI — The polls are open across most of Florida.
Precincts in Eastern Standard Time opened at 7 a.m. Tuesday. Precincts in the Panhandle are on Central Standard Time and will open an hour later.
The U.S. Justice Department has been monitoring Florida for voting irregularities throughout the early voting period that began Oct. 20. Those efforts will continue at polling places on Election Day. U.S. Attorney’s Offices statewide are working with the FBI to investigate any complaints about voting rights violations.
