TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) _ Florida’s “growler war” over craft beer may be ending under legislation headed to Gov. Rick Scott.
The bill passed in the House Friday would allow craft breweries to sell beer in the popular 64-ounce “growler” size and lift the requirement that they operate as tourist attractions. The Senate already passed the legislation (SB 186).
Alcoholic beverage distributors have fought for more than a year with craft breweries over the legislation, saying it could open the way for large beer manufacturers to dominate the market.
The bill limits breweries to selling their beer at eight locations.
