A 21-year-old Valrico man was accused of raping a 14-year-old girl Monday night, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say William Clifford Atkins raped a girl he had known for more than a year near Sydney Dover Road and Music Tree Place at about 9 p.m. in unincorporated Hillsborough.
Atkins held the girl against her will and used physical force to subdue her, authorities said.
Atkins is a garbage collector with the city of Plant City, jail records show.
He was being held without bail Tuesday at the Hillsborough County Jail.
