Vacant St.Pete House Goes Up in Flames

 

The St. Petersburg Fire & Rescue responded to 1045 25 Street North for a report of a structure fire at 4:27 this morning.

Fire crews quickly arrived on scene and found a large two story wood frame house with heavy fire showing from the second floor windows.

District Chief and Incident Commander Richard Johnson directed crews as they fought the fire.

It took firefighters 17 minutes to extinguish the blaze.

According to Johnson, the house was vacant and boarded up.

There was no power to the structure and no injuries.

Fire investigator Mike Medley was on scene to determine the cause and origin of the fire and he stated that the fire is suspicious in nature and possibly arson.

Damage estimate is 20,000 dollars.
