US Officials Hope To Stop Ebola At The Border

Thomas Duncan

Federal officials say all options are on the table as they consider measures to prevent a U.S. epidemic of Ebola. Medical exams, including a temperature check, are routinely conducted in West Africa before international airline passengers are allowed to board their flights.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is considering similar check-ups of travelers coming into the United States. It’s thought that Thomas Eric Duncan brought Ebola into the U.S. from Liberia, after he cleared a medical check in his homeland.

ABC’s Jim Ryan has an update on Duncan and a look at the proposed interventions.
