All northbound lanes of US 19 were closed at Harn Blvd. after a semi-truck hit a a guard rail and burst into flames. Traffic is being diverted at Belleair Road.
Two lanes of southbound traffic also are affected.
Motorists are advised to find alternate routes for their morning commute.
The driver, 37-year-old Mike Manuel Leon Rodriguez of Hialeah Gardens, sustained minor injuries. Rodriguez is employed by High Quality Trucking of Medley, Fla. He was cited for careless driving.
All lanes of U.S. 19 were shut down for several hours, but southbound lanes have been reopened. Northbound lanes remain closed at this time. Drivers should use Keene Road, Belcher Road and McMullen Booth Road as north-south alternatives.
