Two Bay Area Shootings

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (AP) _ Authorities responded to two separate early shootings.

In New Port Richey, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office says a heavily armed man fled to a neighbor’s house early Monday after deputies showed up at his home.

The sheriff’s office says the man shot at deputies clearing the neighbor’s house but then surrendered after they returned fire.

No one was injured.

In Dade City, the sheriff’s office says deputies shot a man who pointed a gun at city police officers late Sunday.

The sheriff’s office says the man had barricaded himself inside a home and had a history of threatening his family with guns.

The man had been “Baker Acted” just weeks before.

The man passed away at the scene.
