SEFFNER, Fla. (AP) — A Florida state trooper is recovering from injuries suffered during a crash on Interstate 4 in Seffner.
The Tampa Tribune (http://bit.ly/Ld7yM6 ) reports a box truck hit the trooper’s vehicle Wednesday night as he was completing the investigation of a two-vehicle crash on the interstate.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the trooper was driving across I-4 with his emergency lights when the truck hit him. At the time of the crash he was taking a female driver who was involved in the initial crash back to her car. The trooper’s car spun into the emergency lane and hit an unoccupied vehicle.
The trooper was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center with injuries that weren’t life threatening. The female passenger in his vehicle was also taken to the hospital.
