On April 5, 2014 at approximately 2:00 pm, a 1997 Honda Civic, driven by 29-year-old Jared Ross Jung of Trilby, was traveling north on Old Trilby Road approaching the driveway access to 32540 Old Trilby Road.
For unknown reason, as the vehicle neared the driveway access, it entered onto the east grass shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle then traveled in a north-northeast trajectory down a slight grass embankment whereupon it collided with a large log located at the south portion of the driveway access.
The impact with the log caused the vehicle to become airborne and it traveled over the driveway access and into a wooded area at the north portion of the driveway access. It then overturned within the wooded area while continuing to travel in a north-northeast trajectory, before coming to final rest.
The vehicle came to final rest overturned onto its roof panel and facing east-southeast within the wooded area approximately 130 feet north-northeast of the initial area of impact with the log.
Jung was transported to Bayfront Medical Center for injuries received in the collision. He later succumbed to his injuries and expired on Sunday, April 6.
