Police and emergency crews responded to a crash on the Gandy Bridge Wednesday morning involving an SUV and a school bus.
Fire crews say they had to excoriate a person from the SUV and they were transported to Tampa General with serious injuries.
According to the police report, the SUV was trying to change lanes from the inside to the outside lane on the Gandy Bridge. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which spun counter clockwise into the path of the bus. The bus tried unsuccessfully to avoid the SUV and slammed into the side of it.
St. Pete Fire Rescue says the bus was privately owned and did not belong to Hillsborough or Pinellas County schools. They also report that there was no children on the bus at the time of the crash and the driver was treated on scene and released.
You can see from the pictures below the roads were wet at the time of the crash.
