Three Local Hospitals Get “D” In Health

A non-profit watchdog is out with its latest hospital scores, and it’s not good news for three bay area medical centers.

The Leapfrog Group gave Bayfront Medical Center in St Petersburg, Tampa General Hospital, and Venice Regional Bayfront Health a “D” in hospital safety.

That means you are more likely to become infected or have complications from a doctor mistake.

Several local hospitals did get an “A” in the Leapfrog Group study.

They include Mease Countyside Hospital in Safety Harbor, Mease Dunedin Hospital, Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Doctors Hospital of Sarasota, and Florida Hospital Carrollwood.
