Authorities have now confirmed that a deadly crash on the Courtney Campbell Causeway happened because the driver was texting.
Officials say 19 year old Sha-Mhya Hydiah looked down to read a text she had gotten while driving across the span.
Her car veered into a concrete wall and flipped.
Hydiah was killed.
A 2 year old in the car is in serious condition.
And an adult passenger has non life-threatening injuries.
