AM 820 News anchor Robert Pankau spoke to Shyann Malone of WTSP 10 News about the latest in a SWAT standoff in Tarpon Springs where an unidentified 27 year-old man took his one year-old son hostage. The boy is okay but he threatened his mother with dousing a “Rib Shack” trailer in lighter fluid.
Update 6:40 am: According to the Tarpon Springs Police, the father of the child involved in the incident in the 500 block of Levis Ave did come out of the locked room (5:36 a.m.) after talking with negotiators and the baby was taken into protective custody without incident . The baby was uninjured.
This case is still under investigation, the father is being interviewed at this time!
