Woman Bitten In Hand By Gator In Tampa

Hillsborough County sheriff deputies and Fire Rescue responded to a call of an alligator bite Friday afternoon near the University Mall in Tampa.

The gator sighting was in a retention pond at the north side parking lot of the mall located at 2200 Fowler Ave. Deputies said there was a 3-foot gator at the scene.

The victim, a 17-year-old girl was bitten in the hand while swimming in the water. Deputies say she kept all her fingers.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission crew is responding as well.
