Teens Carjack Tampa Woman’s Car

Tampa Police are searching for a man and woman after they stole a car from a homeless woman.

According to investigators, the suspects stole a 2003 Ford Explorer from 48-year-old Joyce Rowland. Rowland is homeless and lives in her car.

The incident happened at 1:34 a.m. on Sunday at N. 9th Street and E. Hillsborough Ave. The suspects allegedly pulled Rowland from her car, battered her and took off. She suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital.

The Explorer has a tag of 161-2PM and is black in color. It’s in poor condition and the driver’s side window does not go up, police say. The keys are with the vehicle, which was last seen driving north on N. 9th Street.

The suspects are described as a black male and a black female both between 15 and 17 years of age. The male is 5 feet 8 inches and weighs 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark colored sweatshirt and dark pants. The woman is 5 feet 3 inches, 100 pounds and was last seen wearing dark clothing.
