Carjacker Busted In Next County

The suspect wanted for carjacking an 83-year-old woman in a Port Richey parking lot was located and arrested in Largo early Friday morning. 26 year old Amber Rae Arnesen was arrested by Largo Police in the 500 block of Belcher Road about 3:30 a.m. Friday. The white, 2003 Cadillac Deville was recovered.

About 10 a.m. Thursday, the victim, whose name is being withheld at this time, was in the parking lot of Publix, 7037 Ridge Road, loading groceries into her car when she was approached by a female suspect. The suspect asked if she needed help loading her groceries. The victim said no and the suspect walked away after another customer walked past. The suspect returned, reaching into the victim’s pocket and stealing her car keys. The suspect then drove away in the victim’s 2003 white Cadillac Deville.

Arnesen is also a suspect in a Clearwater crime that occurred Thursday. A strong-arm robbery took place in the Whole Foods parking lot at Westfield Countryside Mall, 27001 U.S. 19 N.

A 71-year-old woman was getting in her car about 3:30 p.m. when the suspect pushed her and grabbed the victim’s purse from the front seat. The victim tried to stop the suspect and a struggle ensued over the purse, with the suspect’s shirt being ripped during the struggle. The suspect then got into the passenger side of a Cadillac which fled from the scene northbound on the U.S. 19 frontage road.

The investigation continues into the incident.
