Weekend Things To Do In Tampa

Things To Do This Weekend

It’s the weekend before Thanksgiving and Florida is starting to feel like fall. Forecasters are predicting this weekend’s highs to be in the 60’s and 70’s, which is perfect weather to go out and enjoy the town in. Here are some events going on around Tampa this weekend:

Food: In Plant City the 14th Annual Suncoast Credit Union Plant City Pig Jam State BBQ Championship is taking place. There will be 75+ professional and amateur teams from across the country competing for $16,450 in prizes. Friday night guests can meet with the contestants and enjoy live music from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. On Saturday enjoy four bands on two stages, kid’s activities and some yummy food from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The event will take place at the Randy Larson Softball Four-Plex at 1900 South Park Rd. Parking is $5 and admission is FREE. Visit www.plantcity.org/major-events for more information.

Art: It’s Florida and while we don’t have leaf changes we do have sand. This weekend the 8th annual Sandings Ovation Master’s Cup & Music Festival takes place on Treasure Island Beach from Nov. 16-20. The four day competition consists of ten sand sculpting masters from North America, Europe and Asia. The event is free and takes place from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. all weekend.
