The suspect, Tiffany Tebo, was walking out of a Bealls department store in Pasco County when she was approached by a deputy who suspected her of shoplifting.
The deputy attempted to handcuff her and take her into custody and she refused to comply. During the struggle that followed, the deputy brought her to the ground where she hit her head.
Tebo says the body cam footage is proof of excessive force.
Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco stands by the deputy’s actions and says the video is proof that body cams show what really happened.
