U.S. Central Command Twitter Account Hacked

The Twitter account for the United States Central Command was apparently hacked Monday, possibly by agents connected to ISIS.

The page’s profile picture was changed to black and white graphics with the text “Cyber Caliphate” and “I Love You ISIS.”

“We won’t stop! We know everything about you, your wives and children,” on tweet read.

Central Command is based at the MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa and operates in the Middle East. Their usual tweets contain the latest in their attacks against ISIS.

CentCom’s YouTube channel has also been compromised. The hackers uploaded two ISIS propaganda videos.

It’s unclear how the hackers were able to gain access to the accounts but it’s possible that they sent whoever is in charge with the social media accounts a phishing email.

Mashable.com says that Central Command will make a statement within the hour.

This is a developing story.
