TAMPA NEWS: I-275 Detour
TAMPA — Southbound I-275 will be closed to all traffic at the Hillsborough River between 11:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday (June 13 and 14) nights. [NOTE: This is an earlier start time and later finish time than last weekend.]
Motorists may find some backups on southbound I-275 and westbound I-4 during these hours. These detours are also set to take place during the same hours the weekend of June 20/21.
DETOUR: Traffic will be detoured off at Exit 45A and directed south on Ashley Drive. Drivers will then turn right onto Kennedy Boulevard and go west to Howard Avenue, turn right and go north on Howard Avenue, then turn left between the overpass bridges onto the ramp to Armenia Avenue. Cross over Armenia and use the entrance ramp back onto southbound I-275.
Drivers should plan at least 15 extra minutes into their travel schedule to make it through the detour route.
