Fivay Teaching Ass’t Accused Of Abusing Student

Pasco Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a Fivay High School instructional assistant Thursday after he allegedly shoved a student to the floor.

Instructional Assistant Alvaro Muente, 31, admitted he became frustrated with a student, grabbed him with both hands and pushed him approximately 10 feet into a room. The force of the shove caused the student to hit a wall and fall to the floor.

Muente initially claimed he guided the student into the room, but later admitted to being frustrated and using too much force. Muente, who is charged with abuse of infirm, elderly or disabled adult, remains in the Land O’ Lakes Detention center with a $1,000 bond.
