Earlier this week, 63-year-old Linda Maddox of Tampa Bay, shot her 7-year old grandson about an hour past midnight.
Now, that shooting is an being labeled by the Sheriff’s Office as an accident, but the investigation is still on going. Maddox claimed to be on ‘high alert’ according to deputies, as she was home alone with her twin grandsons where her son was out working late.
When she heard the chair that she had placed against her bedroom door, scraping against the floor, she grabbed her pistol and fired a shot. Unfortunately, for Tyler Maddox, 7, that shot landed in his upper body.
DCF has said that for now, both children remain in the custody of their father.
