Tampa Car Crash Triggers Power Outage

Tampa police were called out to a traffic crash involving a TECO pole at 1:30 a.m. Friday at Lois Ave South and Boy Scout Blvd.

The driver was fleeing from officers who were attempting to stop the car, at which point he crashed into the pole, causing a temporary outage.

After crashing into the pole the driver fled from the vehicle on foot but was immediately located and arrested. The officers did not engage in a vehicle pursuit.

The suspect was identified as 32-year-old Daniel Crongeyer. He is charged with fleeing to elude, DUI property damage and leaving the scene of a traffic crash with property damage.
