Statue Of John Lennon Erected In Downtown Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. — A statue of former Beatle John Lennon is a hit with tourists in downtown Tampa.

The Tampa Tribune reports that the statue outside The Barrymore Hotel is attracting visitors who want to take selfies with it.

The statue shows Lennon wearing a sport coat, long hair and with his signature round glasses. It was erected about five months ago.

The statue was designed and made by Cuban sculptor Jose Villa Soberon. The Barrymore’s owners bought it at auction for an undisclosed price.
