A Plant City shooting suspect and his cousin are now in custody after a chase and police stand off in Tampa early Friday morning. A 14-year-old girl was with him but is now safe in Plant City police custody.
Tampa police officers helped Plant City police in responding to the shooting and a stolen vehicle in Plant City. After a chase, 18-year-old suspect Antwan Gordon barricaded himself in an apartment in an apartment complex near 46th Street and Citrus Circle in Tampa.
A Tampa Police Tactical Response Team and negotiator were called to the scene and TPD evacuated the surrounding area.
The suspect had been wanted for shooting at individuals and stealing a vehicle in Plant City. Officers took him and his cousin into custody around 7 a.m.
