According to Hillsborough County deputies, Steve B. Rodd, 49, intentionally dropped the rabbit into a swimming pool at the Vista Inn at 400 Bearss Avenue East on Friday and stood on the deck of the pool, watching it struggle.
After two minutes, it gave up and Rodd walked away. Maintenance staff removed the dead rabbit from the water after another guest observed it floating in the pool.
Rodd was charged with Aggravated Cruelty to Animals.
