State Road 54 at Starkey Road in the Seven Springs area of Pasco County, re-opening after gas leak. There were some evacuations while others were told to stay indoors. The leak started when a construction crew hit a 6 inch line.

A trucker is seriously injured after his 18 wheeler collided with a train at the Dade City Business Center on Citrus Country Drive.

The search for remaining members of a family missing on their sailboat in the Gulf of Mexico between Sarasota and Fort Myers is suspended. The bodies of 45 year old Ace Kimberly and his 17 year old daughter Rebecca have been recovered. Kimberly’s 15 and 13 year old sons are still out there. Their sailboat likely broke up in a storm.

A 33 year old Georgia woman is struck and killed by lightning as she stood in shallow water in Daytona Beach Shores. A man standing next to her remains hospitalized.

No reports of trouble at this year’s St. Pete Pride parade. Thousands lined the streets Saturday night with hundreds of local, state, and federal law enforcement officers keeping an eye out for trouble. The parade came two weeks after the Orlando gay nightclub massacre.

27 year old Daniel Farris, in jail for telling a mentally disabled Largo woman he was country music star Jason Aldean so he could get money and sex from her. Farris is charged with grand theft and scheming to defraud.

A fight over beer ends with a Pinellas Park father and son dead. It started when 59 year old Waldemar Bogusiewicz shot his 25 year old son Adrian. Police responding to the 96th Terrace house then shot and killed Waldemar when he opened fire on them.

Tampa’s homeless get help in their fight against the Zika Virus. Metropolitan Ministries is handing out inspect repellant and mosquito nets to homeless people who sleep outside during the summer. The mosquito-borne Zika virus generally causes a mild illness, but also severe birth defects.
