March Madness Is Coming To Tampa In 2020

Tampa Scores Rounds 1 & 2 Of March Madness Tournament

Hang onto the edge of your seat basketball fans, March Madness is coming to Tampa in 2020!

On Tuesday afternoon Rob Higgins, Executive Director of Tampa Bay Sports Commission, announced the big news on Twitter.

The first and second rounds of the men’s NCAA tournament will be held at Amalie Arena in 2020. As of now the date are set for March 19 and 21, 2020.

Of course Tampa is no stranger to hosting big events. Just a couple of months ago in January the city hosted the 2017 College Football National Championship game at Raymond James Stadium. Alabama and Clemson fans filled the streets of Tampa for the event.

“Each event enjoyed record attendance,” Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn said about the event hosted by Tampa in January. “The uniqueness of Tampa is that all of these events were connected and highlighted by Tampa’s Rverwalk.”

It’s becoming an exciting time for the city of Tampa.
