Man Robs Tampa Gas Station, Police Investigating

Tampa police are investigating a gas station robbery in Tampa.

According to police, a man walked into the Marathon gas station located at 4139 W. Kennedy Blvd Tuesday morning at 1:30 a.m. and walked behind the clerk’s counter after the door had been left open. He confronted the clerk and demanded money.

The clerk opened the register and the suspect, identified as a white male, took money out and fled on foot in a northbound direction.

Police went looking for him equipped with a K-9 unit, ROC, and patrol officers. No injuries were reported.

Police say the suspect did not display that he had a weapon.

There is video surveillance which may be forthcoming later Tuesday, police say. The suspect is described as a W/M, slim build, unknown age, last seen wearing “skinny” blue jeans, brown hoodie zip-up jacket and a cloth covering his face.
