Updated Hurricane Irma Evacuation Shelters: Hillsborough County

On Tuesday morning Hurricane Irma strengthened to a category five storm. This comes a day after Governor Rick Scott declared a state of emergency for Florida.

Scott urges Florida residents to plan and prepare as a majority of forecast models suggest the monster storm will impact Florida.

For Hillsborough County, there are some evacuation shelters open to those in need of safety. Here is a list of shelters:
