Hillsborough High Evacuates After Smoke In Main Building

Tampa Fire Rescue responded to Hillsborough High school at 9:30 Monday morning after a 9-1-1 call from the school reporting smoke in the main building.

According to TFR, units arrived and began investigating the source of the smoke. The students had been evacuated and were not in any danger.

Firefighters found the source of the smoke to be a malfunctioning air handler and cancelled the other responding units. There were no injuries to report.

Students will be allowed back into the building once the area is deemed safe by units on scene.
