HCSO Aviation Finds Fugitive After Dark

Hillsborough County deputies arrested a man who had felony warrants against him.

Police say they responded to a construction site on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in attempt to take 37-year-old Rodger Fowler into custody. Upon their arrival, Fowler took off on foot.

Deputies were able to locate him in a nearby neighborhood.

At midnight, deputies observed a white Isuzu Rodeo bearing an improper tag traveling eastbound on Curry Street at a high rate of speed. Deputies following the vehicle in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle pulled into the driveway of 1516 Curry Street in Brandon. The front driver side door swung open and Fowler exited the vehicle and began running eastbound into a wooded area.

HCSO aviation and K-9 responded to assist in locating Fowler. The Aviation advised of a hot spot near the railroad tracks to the north of the deputies location. HCSO K9 deputies tracked to the location and were able to locate Fowler hiding in the wooded area.

Nicole Shouse was discovered sitting in the passenger side of the Isuzu. Shouse stated she was aware Fowler had a warrant for his arrest. Deputies had previously made contact with Shouse in an attempt to locate Fowler on 10/28/15. She was notified if she aided Fowler in his attempt to evade capture, she would be arrested.

Shouse and Fowler were transported to Orient Road Jail.
