Hillsborough County deputies are searching for a man after they say he shot two people and fled the scene just along Interstate 4.
Police say a 9-1-1 caller reported at 12:15 a.m. Friday an unknown make and model car had pulled along side their vehicle and shot at it on Interstate 4 in the vicinity of U.S. Highway 92 in Seffner.
The adult male driver and a female passenger were shot and taken to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries. There was also a passenger in the back seat, who was uninjured, police say.
The motive is unclear, but police say this does not appear to be a random act. All eastbound lanes of I-4 have been reopened.
